In this article, we review the results from our two premium subscriptions, The Sports Bettor and Live Betting+.
Things continue to go very well in our pre-match betting service, The Sports Bettor. In fact, we have now delivered a profit for eight consecutive months, primarily betting on major markets such as 1X2, Asian Handicap, and Over/Under. Needless to say, we are very pleased with that achievement.
Let’s take a closer look at what went well in May 2026.
One of our highest-staked bets of the month was the draw between Aarhus Fremad and HB Køge, where we invested 3.5 units at odds of 3.75. The game was read perfectly, and a dull but profitable 0-0 draw resulted in the biggest single win of the month. It is always a fantastic feeling when a high-priced selection unfolds exactly as expected.
Another excellent pick from Denmark was FC Nordsjælland not to lose at home against FC Midtjylland. We discussed this match extensively on our podcast, and it quickly became clear to our experts that the odds on the home side were significantly off. We managed to take advantage of that mispricing with a well-timed and highly profitable wager.
Looking beyond Denmark, there was also an interesting opportunity in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga. Hannover were understandably priced as heavy favourites in the final round of the season, with promotion still within reach.
The issue with the market prices, however, was that they showed far too little respect for visitors Nürnberg. We opposed the obvious motivational angle by backing Nürnberg +1.25 Asian Handicap and secured a full win when Hannover stumbled. It serves as a good example of how it can sometimes — and perhaps even more often than many bettors realise — pay to oppose the team that desperately needs points. Of course, sports betting is never quite that simple, but it remains an important lesson.
We are now turning our attention towards the FIFA World Cup, which kicks off on Thursday, June 11. Even though Denmark will not be participating and many matches will be played during the night in our time zone, it remains a huge event for us, and we expect to send out plenty of betting recommendations throughout the tournament. There are therefore plenty of reasons to stay tuned throughout June.

While it was once again a satisfying month in The Sports Bettor, we have to hold our hands up regarding Live Betting+: May is a month we would rather forget as quickly as possible.
Across 31 bets, we recorded a loss of 14.32 units. Although the sample size is not particularly large in isolation, it remains a disappointing result and one we are determined to improve upon significantly.
Several of our over bets failed to deliver. Aachen vs. Rostock was poorly assessed, as neither team pushed aggressively enough for a goal to make the wager worthwhile. There were also several bets in the lower Danish divisions where we backed goals but unfortunately failed to find the right matches.
The month featured several major finals, and we had action on many of them. In the Danish Cup Final between FC Copenhagen and FC Midtjylland, we backed the draw, only to see a goal ruin the bet. In the Europa League Final between Freiburg and Aston Villa, we were well off the mark with our Freiburg corners bet. Freiburg offered very little resistance, and as a result, backing the German side to win corners proved unsuccessful.
We performed somewhat better in the Champions League Final, where both Under goals in regular time and 0-0 in extra time produced winning bets. However, we missed our wager on Arsenal to win the penalty shootout. Our analysis was based on Arsenal having the stronger goalkeeper, but that mattered little when two Arsenal players missed the target entirely.
Fundamentally, too many of our bets simply missed the mark. The lack of first-half corners in St. Pauli vs. Wolfsburg is another example. That said, there were also several occasions where we found ourselves on the right side of the market without being rewarded.
For example, we backed Bayern Munich -1.5 Asian Handicap at half-time against Heidenheim based on the expectation that Vincent Kompany would introduce Harry Kane and several other attacking stars after the break. We specifically noted that subscribers should act quickly because the market would shorten as soon as the substitutions became reality. Five minutes into the second half, after Kompany had indeed made the expected changes at half-time, Bayern were trading at -1.75 Asian Handicap at the same price. It was a superb bet with excellent timing; unfortunately, Bayern failed to deliver.
We were also unfortunate with our Paderborn -1 Asian Handicap bet against Wolfsburg. Paderborn completely dominated the match, generating almost 3.0 expected goals while allowing virtually nothing at the other end. Unfortunately, that dominance only resulted in a push rather than a win. Had either of those two bets landed, the overall figures would have looked significantly better.
However, that does not change the overall conclusion: there were simply too many poor bets in May.
