Once again in 2026, we will review the results of our two Monetos Plus subscriptions every month (The Sportsbettor and Live Betting +), but first we need to wrap up 2025. December once again delivered a profit in the pregame group, while the final month of the year resulted in a significant loss in the live group.
We begin the monthly review by taking a look at our pregame group, which generated a small profit of nearly three units in December, a month that offered many strong betting opportunities.
The best bet measured by line movement was FC Nordsjælland to beat FC Midtjylland in the Danish Cup. Recommended at odds of 3.60, it closed almost a full point lower at around 2.60, which is an extremely strong line move. While it was somewhat fortunate, based on the second half, that the bet cashed, consistently finding this type of bet (even with smaller line moves) is very positive.
The same can be said for one of the final bets of the month, DR Congo -1.5 against Botswana. Judging by the match, it was a very strong bet, and DR Congo could easily have won by more than the final score of 3–0.
Of course, there were also some off-target bets during the month. That is impossible to avoid over the course of an entire month. Brøndby to win by more than two goals against Fredericia was clearly not the right side, and somewhat surprisingly Dortmund were also unable to beat Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League, while St. Pauli–Heidenheim never quite became the “under” match we had hoped for.
Looking back at 2025 as a whole, it turned out to be the best year ever measured by return on investment.
The second half of the year ended with +62.56 units and a return rate of 107.65%. This was almost identical to the first half of the year, which finished at 107.84%. With an overall return rate of 107.74% for the full year, 2025 became the best year measured by ROI since our launch in 2021.
Naturally, these are figures we are very pleased with, but there is still room for improvement. We continuously look at where we can improve and optimize through ongoing discussions, analyses, and adjustments.

December was significantly more negative for our live betting subscription.
The holiday month started well with three winning bets in a row, but from there it was almost all downhill, and the month ended with a loss of -18.56 units. What went wrong? It is always a combination of factors.
Let’s start by looking at the bets where there is something to learn. On December 26, we played over 2.75 Asian goals in the AFCON match between Angola and Zimbabwe, and the timing could have been better — even though the game was lively at 1–1 and both teams should have been pushing forward.
The challenge of going over this line in African football is that there is a long way to go to secure a full win. If the third goal is scored, both teams are very likely to shut the game down, causing the match to stall. This means we rarely win the full odds. It is always easy to be wise in hindsight, but in situations like this it is probably better to wait until over 2.5 goals is available — and accept missing out if the goal is scored within the next five minutes. In this case, no goal was scored, so it did not change the outcome.
Arsenal were another team we did not have a good handle on in December. Twice we played Arsenal -0.5, and both bets lost. Things went slightly better when we played under 1.5 goals in the first half of Arsenal–Brighton, but it may be worth studying Arsenal’s endgame in more depth.
There were also bets where we were very unlucky. It was crazy that we lost three units on Bayern Munich -0.75 in the first half against Mainz, who scored from a set piece in first-half stoppage time. We found a very strong bet on one more goal in Paderborn–Elversberg, where a full 11 minutes of stoppage time were added (the market clearly expected less), but despite the extended injury time and several promising situations, the goal never came, costing us three units. We were also twice on DR Congo at 2–0 and 3–0 against Botswana. Congo missed a one-on-one late in the match, and had that bet landed, it would alone have resulted in a positive swing of more than four units.
We have experienced our first truly major downturn since our launch in 2022. The first eight months of 2025 produced a profit of 46.50 units, but the final four months were rough, and this is where we obviously need to search thoroughly for areas we can improve.
And that is exactly what we are doing — continuously. We talk things through, discuss developments in the game, keep a close eye on stoppage time, and do the things we believe are necessary to be successful live bettors. We will continue to do so in 2026.
It is also important to emphasize that we have not suddenly become worse live bettors over the course of four months. Anyone with long-term betting experience knows that results, especially in live betting, fluctuate. A four-month downswing is not unusual, even if it is (fortunately) relatively rare.
