In this piece, we review our two sports betting subscriptions The Sports Bettor and Live Betting +. Read in Danish by clicking here.
It can be said very simply: April was a fantastic month for The Sports Bettor!
The profit came in at an astronomical +41.54 units with a return rate of nearly 127% – it doesn’t get much better than that, and it’s a result we are extremely satisfied with.
A big part of the profit came from correctly predicting that Peterborough vs. Mansfield – our final tip of the month – would end in a draw. It landed comfortably at 0-0, and since we had staked 3.5 units (our highest stake of the month) at odds of 3.65, it naturally played a major role in the strong overall result.
However, one bet alone doesn’t generate such a large profit, so let’s take a look at what else went well – especially in the final third of April. Midway through the month, we were actually down more than 10 units, but a strong finish with plenty of winning bets delivered an excellent final result.
It also helped that Hvidovre vs. Horsens, Bradford vs. Bolton, and Blackburn vs. Coventry all ended in draws. Overall, April was a month where we had many draw selections. We also backed draws in Paderborn vs. Schalke 04, Blackpool vs. Leyton Orient, and FC Köln vs. Werder Bremen, but those didn’t land. The many draw selections are linked to the late stage of the season, where a single point is often acceptable for both teams.
We also picked the right side in the German relegation clash between Heidenheim and St. Pauli, backing the home team +0 Asian at odds of 1.83 (closing around 1.72). Additionally, we timed a late bet on Silkeborg +0.25 Asian just before kickoff in their 2-0 win over Randers. So it wasn’t only the high-odds draws that drove the profit—solid, consistent work on Asian lines also contributed.
And that’s how The Sports Bettor delivered a profit for the seventh consecutive month.

In the live group, we came back down to earth after a very strong March – though fortunately, the group remains in profit for the year.
A major setback came from a losing card bet of four units in Celta Vigo vs. Freiburg. On the surface, it looked like a calm match, as everything had been decided in Vigo after a dominant Freiburg performance, but tensions were far from settled. These situations are rare and involve an element of variance, but just one minute after we released ‘under 2.5 cards’, two yellow cards were shown. With 45 minutes still to play, the bet was essentially already lost.
We also lost when FC Barcelona visited Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. We backed both Barcelona -0.25 Asian and over 3.5 goals, but the decisive Barcelona goal never came, resulting in another four-unit loss.
On the positive side, we got exactly the goal we needed in Vejle vs. Silkeborg. We were on Silkeborg +0 Asian as well as over 2.5 goals, and it was a relief when Tonni Adamsen scored a late penalty. In a match like that, the ‘over 2.5 goals’ bet could likely have justified a larger stake than two units. Unfortunately, however, these wins – along with two strong draw bets late in the month – were not enough to secure an overall profit for the group.
