October turned out to be the worst month in the history of the live betting group. However, our pre-game group, The Sports Bettor, delivered exceptional performance, and combined the two groups still finished more than 15 units in profit and around +6 %. This article reviews the results in both groups.

Worst monthly result ever
There is no way around it. October 2025 will go down as the worst month we have ever delivered in the live-betting group. We lost 34.56 units and finished with a return rate of 69.42 %.
The result is naturally unsatisfactory, and below we outline the defining characteristics of the month. Variance is an unavoidable part of live betting, and across thousands of wagers certain months will inevitably fall well below the norm. Over multiple years we have delivered a profit of 4-5 % on a very large sample. One month like October does not change that, although it certainly warrants review.
Trends rather than single matches
As a principle, individual losing bets are rarely interesting, because decisions are based on match dynamics, information, and market context. When long-term results are strong, the quality lies in the process.
That said, specific bets can illustrate broader points. One example was over 0.5 goals in the second half of Saudi Arabia versus Iraq. Although the stake was small at two units, the match showed that Saudi Arabia’s direct World Cup qualification scenario made a defensive approach likely, and that should have been anticipated, just as Iraq’s limited offensive threat should have been weighed more heavily.
More broadly, there were recurring challenges on overs. This has been a previous focus area, and we have already worked on becoming more selective. The pattern becomes clearer now. Are teams defending leads more strictly? Is the intensity in modern European football so high that trailing sides lack the energy for a final push? Or are defensive structures simply improving? Perhaps it is just random? These questions merit continued attention.
Variance and realism
October also featured sequences where variance hit hard. Examples include Belarus pulling a goal back against Scotland as a very big underdog and a dramatic turnaround for Lincoln Red Imps against Lech Poznań, where the big underdog struck back again. A similar situation occurred at Anfield, where Manchester United’s Harry Maguire made it 1-2 after we had timed a strong entry on Liverpool -0,5 asian earlier in the second half. This is inherent to live-betting dynamics. Some months will deviate significantly from the expected range, and this was one of them.

Wild Danish-football run drove huge profit in ‘The Sports Bettor’
While the live group had an exceptionally weak month, the pre-game group delivered a standout result. The Sports Bettor closed October with +50 units on 50 bets and a return rate of 134.08 %. Get access by clicking HERE.
It was a month of high-quality execution, both in market reading and match evaluation. One example was Bochum +1 asian in the DFB-Pokal, where the match was essentially even and Augsburg continued their negative trend.
The Danish Superliga and leagues in general were particularly well handled, once again highlighting one of our core strengths in the pregame group. A strong under position in FC Copenhagen versus FC Midtjylland illustrated our edge early in the month, and later we backed FC Midtjylland -1.25 asian against Vejle in a spot that arguably deserved even greater stake.
Danish football is not only an area where we perform well; we are demonstrably among the strongest in the country in this market segment. The results support that conclusion. In October we delivered a historically strong run in Danish football: 19 winners and one push across 20 consecutive bets. Such a sequence is exceptional and further evidence of the value our Danish-football selections provide.
We also saw market movement support in other games, including Odense +0.75 asian against Brondby (closed at +0.5) and Scotland -1.75 asian against Belarus (approached -2.25). Both still lost, but just as we were probably hit by extreme variance in our inplay group, we most likely won a little more than we can expect on average in our pregame group. Variance works both ways.
Total return rate: 106 % across 2,918 bets.
